On the 60th anniversary of President Kennedy’s Moonshot speech, POTUS Biden is visiting the JFK Library in Boston (MA) to discuss his vision for another American moonshot: ending cancer as we know it.
President Joe Biden will speak at the JFK library today at 4:00 PM about that initiative that hits home for his family and many others. President Joe Biden traveling to Boston on Monday to speak on his cancer moonshot initiative.
Initially started in 2016 and then reunited earlier this year. The initiate they hope to cut cancer rates by 50% over the next 25 years. There a scientific discovery, data sharing, and collaboration. CEO of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute says this initiative could change the lives of patients and their families.
I think the cancer moonshot will help ensure there is money and focus on significant research and drug development.
The disease had home close hit close to home for the Biden family. That tragedy is now being turned into a hope for a cure. She said between 1999 and 2019, there has been a 27% decline in cancer deaths. She is hoping that number will drop even more with this initiative also early detection is key. There have been more than 250 cancer research projects since 2017 in the United States.
