  1. She was not born in Russia. She was born in one of the republics of SSSR in Central Asia. It’s not the same at all and it doesn’t give you Russian citizenship. She does speak Russian, that was the main language of every educated person in SSSR and clearly her parents spoke Russian along with their native language at home when she grew up. By the time she arrived to USA SSSR already felt apart, so reasons were not political or religious. Just smart but not easy move for better opportunities and future for next generation.
