Today, Vice President Kamala Harris will travel to the Midlands. She is visiting South Carolina State University. This comes less than one year after President Joe Biden spoke to the school's fall 2021. According to the university, it welcomed its largest freshman class in 15 years this fall. Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to speak about the importance of voting and other topics affecting young people. As HBCU alums, students are hoping VP Kamala Harris will acknowledge this personal connection to the student body. The full convocation will be held at the Smith Hammond Middleton Memorial Center at 1pm for Street Squad Orangeburg.
