Nikki Haley Former South Carolina Governor and United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley has officially announced her bid for the 2024 United States presidential race. Haley, a rising star in the Republican Party, made the announcement on February 15 in her hometown of Charleston, South Carolina. Haley's announcement marks the beginning of what is expected to be a highly contested and crowded race for the Republican nomination. With the departure of former President Donald Trump from the White House, the Republican Party is searching for its next leader, and Haley hopes to be that person. In her announcement speech, Haley emphasized her conservative values and her experience as a governor and diplomat. She spoke about the importance of strengthening America's national security, supporting small businesses, and promoting economic growth. She also highlighted her success in South Carolina, where she oversaw record job growth and a decrease in unemployment during her tenure as gover

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers Reaction on Jacob Blake Shot, Read Here

Governor Tony Evers Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers Reaction on Jacob Blake Shot, Read Here Tonight, Jacob Blake was shot in the back multiple times, in broad daylight, in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Kathy and I join his family, friends, and neighbors in hoping earnestly that he will not succumb to his injuries. While we do not have all of the details yet, what we know for certain is that he is not the first Black man or person to have been shot or injured or mercilessly killed at the hands of individuals in law enforcement in our state or our country. We stand with all those who have and continue to demand justice, equity, and accountability for Black lives in our country—lives like those of George Floyd, of Breonna Taylor, Tony Robinson, Dontre Hamilton, Ernest Lacy, and Sylville Smith. And we stand against excessive use of force and immediate escalation when engaging with Black Wisconsinites. I have said all along that although we must offer our empathy, equally important

NY Governor Andrew Cuomo School Reopening Guidelines FULL NEWS | August 7, 2020

NY Governor Andrew Cuomo School Reopening Guidelines FULL NEWS | August 7, 2020, Friday Every region is well below our COVID infection limit, therefore all school districts are authorized to open.  If the infection rate spikes, the guidance will change accordingly. School districts are required to submit plans to NYS for review. As schools reopen NYS is requiring all school districts to: 1) Post their remote learning plans & their testing/tracing plans online 2) Set dates for 3-5 discussion sessions with parents & community (prior to Aug 21) 3) Have at least one separate discussion with teachers alone In schools as elsewhere, masks are required when social distancing is impossible. Every student should plan to have one with them at all times. If a student does not have a mask, the school will be required to provide one. Congress has lent money to corporations & helped Wall Street. Now they must support state & local governments that have borne the brunt of the pandemic.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer CoronaVirus Briefing

Gretchen Whitmer Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer CoronaVirus Briefing Yesterday, I presented the 6 phases of the MI Safe Start Plan to re-engage our economy due to the #COVID19 pandemic. Let’s break it down 👇 We have made progress in the fight against COVID-19 in Michigan because of every person who did their part. Thank you. That being said, our critical workers have put their lives on the line to save lives, and we owe it to them to do whatever we can to stop the spread of the virus. We know the importance of getting our economy moving again. But we have to be smart, because the worst thing we could do is open up in a way that causes a second wave, puts health care workers at further risk, and wipes out all the progress we’ve made. So, here’s the plan: we are going to evaluate where the state and each of its regions are across six phases of this epidemic: 1. Uncontrolled growth 2. Persistent spread 3. Flattening 4. Improving 5. Co

Finland PM Sanna Marin assured that she will do everything to control COVID19

Finland PM Sanna Marin assured that she will do everything to control COVID19 As I have said to the parliament, I cannot promise that the government will succeed perfectly in the midst of the crisis. However, I can assure you that we will do everything in our power to control the epidemic, to ensure that healthcare is carrying and to protect risk groups. In order to succeed in our work as well as possible, we also need peace at work. There will be a time later when we have to go through carefully where we succeeded and where we could have done better. We need to learn so that we are better prepared in the future. A time of crisis is not the moment when you question the skills and ability of competent authorities or renew the structure of management. Decisions are made in the crisis and act on the basis of the information available. The government's job is to implement the policies. Similarly, it is important to maintain a simple dialogue between institutions.

NZ PM Jacinda Ardern Covering Couple of Questions & Government Announcement

NZ PM Jacinda Ardern Covering Couple of Questions & Government Announcement Kia ora all. In my last few posts, I’ve asked that you add any questions you may have regarding COVID-19 into the comments, and lots of you did. So, in today’s update, I’m going to be covering off a couple of them, along with giving you some more information on the Government announcements made today. As always, forgive the length of this post! Many of you are in different parts of the country but trying to get home. We’ve been keeping an eye on demand and space on flights and ferries between the North and South Island, and we know people have struggled to get tickets. We’ll make sure these keep running till midnight Friday to give people the chance to get home, but I do want to highlight again that this is so people can get home for self isolation. Our Minister of Transport Phil Twyford announced extra support for the aviation sector to ensure New Zealanders continue to have access to imp

Canada PM Justin Trudeau Latest Update on Covid-19

Canada PM Justin Trudeau Latest Update on Covid-19 As COVID-19 continues to spread, we are taking every precaution to minimize the health, economic, and social impacts of the virus in Canada. And today, we announced a billion-dollar COVID-19 Response Fund to address the impacts of the virus on our country and to keep you safe. This fund will provide money to the provinces and territories to support our health care system. That’s more money for surgical masks, face shields, testing, and equipment they need to address the outbreak. It will also help fund vaccine development and support clinical trials. On the economic front, we know the virus is having a disruptive impact on businesses, and on workers. No one should have to worry about their job if they have to be quarantined, and no employer should feel like they have to lay off a worker because of COVID-19. So to support workers, we will waive the mandatory one-week waiting period for Employment Insurance sickness benefi

Finland Prime Minister Sanna Marin Latest Update on Coronavirus

Finland Prime Minister Sanna Marin Latest Update on Coronavirus The government's five will meet tomorrow to deal with the additional measures necessary to control the spread of coronavirus and protect risk groups. The government is meeting on Monday. In addition, I have launched the preparation of the Preparedness Act implementing regulation so that the regulation can be adopted quickly if necessary. The readiness law will not be discussed by the government on Monday. But we are prepared for anything. In difficult and rapidly changing circumstances, it is important that the key parties are informed about the situation and the actions of the government. We met with all parliamentary parties on Thursday and I have also discussed the situation with the president of the Republic and the President of Parliament. In addition to the disease, the wrong information is now spreading in society. I will be organizing regular current reports for the media next week. It is im

New Zealand PM Jacinda Ardern delivers an important update on COVID-19 | Must Read

NZ PM Jacinda Ardern Press Briefing on Covid-19 Another long but important update on COVID-19. You may have seen that today we announced a range of major steps to further protect the health of New Zealanders and reduce the threat of transmission of COVID-19. Below is what I said at the announcement, but if you’re short on time, the top things to note are: 1. We have increased New Zealand’s border restrictions. This now means that anyone entering New Zealand from any country aside from the Pacific Islands (listed below) is required to self-isolate for 14 days on arrival. This decision will mean New Zealand will have some of the widest ranging and toughest border restrictions in the world. 2. We also announced a temporary ban on all cruise ships coming into New Zealand. This will be in place from midnight tonight until at least 30 June 2020. 3. New border restrictions apply to people, not products. We will be working to ensure we keep freight routes open fo

Pete Buttigieg Suspends his 2020 presidential campaign, Read & Watch his Exit speech.

Pete Buttigieg at South Bend, Indiana HAPPENING NOW: Pete Buttigieg expected to announce suspension of his 2020 presidential campaign in remarks to supporters in South Bend, Indiana. To chants of "USA! USA!," Pete and Chasten Buttigieg greet each other ahead of Pete Buttigieg's expected announcement that he is suspending his 2020 campaign, ending an historic bid by the first openly gay man to seek the presidency.By every conventional wisdom, by every historical measure, we were never supposed to get anywhere at all...Along that way, an improbable hope became an undeniable reality. We found countless Americans ready to support a middle-class millennial mayor from the industrial Midwest, not in spite of that experience but because of it, eager to get Washington to start working like our best-run communities. We sent a message to every kid out there wondering if whatever marks them out as different means they are somehow destined to be less than...Someone who once fel

For everyone in America. No one written off, no one taken for granted.Like so many of you, Amy and I have decided that at this moment of truth we must give it our all. This moment is our test - the generations that follow ours, the people of the future, are counting on us - and we cannot be found wanting. The challenges before us are the biggest of our lifetimes. Millions without healthcare; an economy that works too well for too few and not at all for too many; & the opportunity to avert the worst consequences of climate change fading in the face of our inaction. We must overcomeFor too long in this country, the powerful have maintained their pri
