Hallituksen viisikko kokoontuu huomenna käsittelemään tarvittavia lisätoimenpiteitä koronaviruksen leviämisen hillitsemiseksi ja riskiryhmien suojelemiseksi. Hallitus kokoontuu maanantaina.

Olen lisäksi käynnistänyt valmiuslain käyttöönottoasetuksen valmistelun, jotta tarvittaessa asetus voidaan antaa nopeasti. Valmiuslaki ei ole maanantaina hallituksen käsittelyssä. Varaudumme kuitenkin kaikkeen.

Vaikeissa ja nopeasti muuttuvissa olosuhteissa on tärkeää, että keskeiset tahot ovat informoituja tilanteesta ja hallituksen toimista. Kokoonnuimme torstaina kaikkien eduskuntapuolueiden kanssa ja olen keskustellut tilanteesta myös tasavallan presidentin ja eduskunnan puhemiehen kanssa.

Taudin lisäksi yhteiskunnassa leviää nyt myös väärä tieto. Tulen järjestämään ensi viikolla tiedotusvälineille säännönmukaisia ajankohtaiskatsauksia tilanteesta. On tärkeää, että oikeaa tietoa on saatavilla ja on mahdollisuus kysyä asiantuntijoilta ja hallitukselta.

Vaikka vaikeampia aikoja on edessä, Suomi ja suomalaiset selviävät tästäkin. Terveydenhuollon ammattilaisemme ovat osaavia ja viranomaiset luotettavia. Yhteiskunta toimii. Nyt jokaisen meistä on ajateltava kanssaihmisiä ja heidän hyvinvointiaan tavanomaistakin enemmän.
