VIRAL MOMENT: Elon Musk Mobbed by Fans in China as Billionaire Keeps Making Funny Faces for Photos

A viral moment involving Elon Musk is taking over social media after the tech billionaire was repeatedly approached by excited fans in China asking for selfies and photos during his visit to Beijing. Videos circulating online show Musk smiling, posing with supporters, and hilariously making funny facial expressions as crowds gathered around him. Many users online described the moment as “pure celebrity energy,” while others joked that the future world’s first trillionaire was “enjoying every second of the attention.”

The viral scenes emerged as Musk joined a high-profile American delegation traveling alongside Donald Trump for meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. The delegation includes several top CEOs and business leaders from major American technology and finance companies.

Social media users in China appeared thrilled to see Musk in person, with videos showing fans rushing toward him for pictures and greetings. Instead of avoiding the attention, Musk leaned into the moment, repeatedly making playful expressions and laughing with supporters. The clips quickly went viral across multiple platforms, drawing millions of views and reactions.

Despite growing competition for Tesla in China, Musk continues to enjoy immense popularity among many Chinese consumers and technology enthusiasts. Over the years, he has built a reputation in the country as a visionary entrepreneur who helped accelerate the global electric vehicle revolution through Tesla and pushed the boundaries of space technology through SpaceX.

However, Musk’s relationship with China has not always been smooth. While many admire him as an innovator and business icon, Tesla has also faced criticism from Chinese regulators and consumers over customer complaints, product concerns, and increasing competition from domestic EV giants. Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers have rapidly narrowed the technology and pricing gap with Tesla, intensifying pressure on the American automaker.

Musk’s influence in China extends beyond electric vehicles. His satellite company Starlink, operated by SpaceX, has reportedly raised concerns within sections of the Chinese military establishment due to its growing global communications capabilities. Even so, analysts believe Musk remains one of the most influential foreign business figures in China because many of his technological ambitions align with Beijing’s push for innovation and advanced manufacturing.

During his visit, Musk briefly spoke to reporters outside the Great Hall of the People, saying he hopes to accomplish “many good things” in China. His comments fueled further discussion online, especially as speculation continues regarding Tesla’s future investments and partnerships in the country.

Musk is traveling alongside several prominent executives, including Tim Cook and Jensen Huang, as part of a broader American business delegation attending meetings connected to Trump’s diplomatic visit.

Even amid geopolitical tensions and fierce competition in the EV market, the viral fan interactions highlight Musk’s unique celebrity status in China — where he is viewed simultaneously as a tech visionary, controversial businessman, internet personality, and global superstar.

For now, one thing is certain: wherever Elon Musk goes in China, cameras — and fans — are guaranteed to follow.
