समाजवादी पार्टी के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष एवं पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री श्री अखिलेश यादव ने भारत और वेस्टइंडीज क्रिकेट टीम के खिलाड़ियों के आज लखनऊ आगमन पर उनका स्वागत एवं अभिनंदन किया है। कल समाजवादी सरकार के कार्यकाल में निर्मित इकाना इंटरनेशनल स्टेडियम में दोनों टीमों के बीच रोमांचक मैच होगा। श्री यादव ने कहा कि लखनऊ अपनी तहजीब और मेहमान नवाजी के लिए मशहूर है इसलिए उम्मीद है कि दोनों टीमों के बीच मैच सद्भावपूर्ण वातावरण में स्वस्थ स्पर्धा की भावना से खेला जाएगा और खिलाड़ियों को लखनऊ का माहौल पसंद आएगा।
श्री यादव ने कहा कि राजधानी लखनऊ में सन् 1994 में भारत-श्रीलंका के बीच क्रिकेट टेस्ट मैच श्री केडी सिंह बाबू स्टेडियम में खेला गया था। तब से 24 साल बाद अब लखनऊ में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर का मैच होने जा रहा है। विश्वस्तरीय इकाना स्टेडियम सभी आधुनिकतम खेल सुविधाओं से लैस है।
समाजवादी पार्टी के मुख्य प्रवक्ता एवं पूर्व कैबिनेटमंत्री श्री राजेन्द्र चैधरी ने कहा है कि भाजपा की कृतघ्नता की हद तो यह है कि राजनीतिक सामान्य शिष्टाचार निभाते हुए भी अखिलेश जी के प्रति आभार तक व्यक्त नहीं किया जबकि यह विश्वस्तरीय इकाना स्टेडियम उन्हीं की देन है। 06 नवम्बर 2018 को लाखों क्रिकेट प्रेमियों का सपना कल साकार होगा। इसके लिए प्रदेश की जनता, खेलप्रेमी और विशेषकर क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी अखिलेश जी के प्रति आभार मानते हैं।
यह अप्रत्याशित नहीं हैं कि भाजपा नेतृत्व श्री अखिलेश यादव की सरकार के द्वारा किए गए विकास कार्यों से चिढ़ रखती है। स्वयं तो भाजपा सरकार जनहित में कोई कार्य नहीं करना चाहती है बस श्री अखिलेश यादव के विकास कार्यों से भाजपाई नफरत पाले हुए है, तभी तो समाजवादी सरकार की बदनामी करते रहते हैं। भाजपाई लाख कोशिश करें पर जनता सच्चाई जानती है कि श्री अखिलेश यादव एक संवेदनशील एवं मानवीय दृष्टिकोण वाले नेता हैं जिनका प्रत्येक कदम विकास की तरफ ही बढ़ता है। श्री चैधरी ने कहा कि 01 दिसम्बर 2013 में श्री अखिलेश यादव ने घोषणा की थी कि वह लखनऊ को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट स्टेडियम की भेंट देंगे। समय-समय पर स्वयं जाकर श्री अखिलेश जी स्टेडियम के निर्माण कार्य की प्रगति देखते रहे थे। अब जब इकाना स्टेडियम में अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय मैच का आयोजन है तब श्री अखिलेश यादव से ज्यादा खुश और कौन होगा? शहीद पथ पर बने इस स्टेडियम में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मैचों के आयोजन के अलावा नए खिलाड़ियों को भी टेªनिंग दी जा रही है।
श्री चैधरी ने कहा समाजवादी सरकार में ही खेल-खिलाड़ियों को प्रोत्साहन और सम्मान देने की परम्परा शुरू हुई थी। खेल में उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन के लिए खिलाड़ियों को यशभारती से भी सम्मानित किया गया। श्री अखिलेश यादव स्वयं एक अच्छे खिलाड़ी है।
