In a report by NBC News, it was revealed that in 2019, the Chinese had a near-space program that allowed them to send spy balloons into American airspace. China announced the program and sanctioned companies that were affiliated with it. Sen. Kennedy, when asked about it, said that he knew nothing about the program.

He highlighted that the United States has 17 intelligence agencies, including the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the National Security Agency, with tens of thousands of employees. He urged the Director of National Intelligence to brief the American people on the situation and what the threat is to Americans.

In response to what the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said, Sen. Kennedy stated that President Xi just lies repeatedly, and you can't trust him. He highlighted that the people of China are wonderful people, but they have been brainwashed. He also stated that China is going to do whatever is in their best interest, led by the Communist Party, including lying. He does not believe anything President Xi says.

2024 Presidential Elections

As the 2024 presidential race draws near, Republican candidates are beginning to emerge. One of the most prominent candidates is former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley. In an announcement, Haley stated that it is time for a new generation of leadership to rediscover fiscal responsibility and secure the border. Sen. Kennedy, when asked if she has his vote, said that he doesn't know her well enough. He stated that competition makes all of us better, and other people will get in the race.
