The recent House Oversight Committee hearing focused on the role of social media, particularly Twitter, in politics. The hearing saw a discussion between representatives Comer and Goldman on the topic. Representative Comer pointed out the allegations surrounding former Vice President Joe Biden's involvement in the firing of a Ukrainian prosecutor general and stated that these allegations were false and lacked evidence.  Representative Goldman then raised the issue of media bias and the problem of people not trusting the information they receive. He pointed to the 2016 election, where the Democratic National Committee and the Clinton campaign were found to have fabricated the Steele dossier, which was the basis of the Russia collusion investigation. Ron DeSantis Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) fires back at the College Board over its criticisms of his opposition to its AP African-American Studies course. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has recently fired back at the College Board over its proposed AP African-American Studies course, which he believes includes elements of "queer theory" and "intersectionality" that are not aligned with the education standards set by the Florida Department of Education.  DeSantis stated that the College Board was responsible for incorporating these elements into the course, and the Florida Department of Education deemed them inappropriate, instead opting for education over indoctrination. The governor also indicated that the College Board is not elected to any official position and simply provides a service and that other vendors may be able to provide better services in the future.
