Pentagon Details F-22 Operation To Shoot Down New High Altitude Airborne Object

  The Pentagon, Washington DC At a Pentagon press briefing, Press Secretary, Air Force Brigadier General Pat Ryder was asked about the high altitude airborne object shot down in US airspace over Alaska. On February 9th, the US military shot down an unidentified high-altitude airborne object in Alaska, which had entered US airspace.  According to Press Secretary and Air Force Brigadier General Pat Ryder, the object posed a threat to civilian air traffic, and the President gave the order to take it down. An F-22 fighter aircraft from Joint Base Elmendorf in Alaska was used to shoot down the object, employing an AIM-9X missile. Recovery efforts are underway, involving HC-130, HH-60, and CH-47 aircraft. At present, the origin of the object is unknown, and the military has not indicated whether it was a Chinese surveillance balloon or something else.
