“Those sub-$2-per-gallon numbers that have popped up are becoming more commonplace,” said Tom Kloza, global head of energy analysis at Gulf Oil, in comments to Yahoo. Kloza added that similar prices could appear in six to 12 additional states in the coming weeks.
Kloza cautioned that prices may soon approach a floor. “I think we’ll spend the next 60 days or so looking for a likely bottom,” he said, noting that winter weather conditions could significantly influence fuel demand and pricing.
