On Wednesday, September 4, 2024, Bao Chau Kelley, a self-proclaimed supporter of former President Donald Trump, led a "welcome" committee for Vice President Kamala Harris during her visit to North Hampton, New Hampshire. The event took place outside Throwback Brewery, where Harris was making her first appearance as the Democratic presidential nominee.

Kelley, an outspoken advocate for Trump, shared her reasons for organizing the event. "Kamala Harris was in North Hampton, and we were there to tell her that New Hampshire is Trump country. She is not welcome here. Go home!" Kelley told local reporters. She expressed her disapproval of Harris' policies and claimed that Harris' supporters were not genuine, hinting that many were incentivized to attend.

According to Kelley, there was an "endless line of yellow buses with Massachusetts plates" that were transporting people to the rally. She added, "A huge amount of pizzas, ice cream, and drinks were given to all these 'supporters' for free. Why can't Kamala Harris's 'supporters' drive themselves to the rally, pay for their own gas, drinks, and food like Trump supporters? Are they even real 'supporters'? I have videos proving all this."

In a video posted by Kelley, she documented the scene, showing the buses and what she claimed to be a carefully orchestrated crowd of Harris supporters. Kelley raised questions about the authenticity of the turnout, contrasting it with the enthusiasm of Trump’s base.

Harris' Visit and Public Reaction

Vice President Kamala Harris was visiting Throwback Brewery as part of her campaign tour. The visit marked her first public event in New Hampshire after securing the Democratic nomination for president. While the official rally drew many Democratic supporters, Kelley's "welcome" committee aimed to send a clear message: New Hampshire remains a stronghold for Trump.

Kelley had earlier posted on social media, calling for a peaceful gathering to show Harris that "New Hampshire is Trump country." She also shared logistical details with her followers, encouraging them to arrive early before roads were closed by the police.

“We just got word of the location but not the exact time. However, we received a police road closure alert for Hobbs Road and Elm Road in North Hampton between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.,” Kelley explained. Despite the uncertainties, she urged her followers to find parking and walk to the event, if necessary, to participate in what she called the "welcoming committee."

Online Mobilization and Support

Kelley's call to action quickly gained traction on social media, with many sharing her post to raise awareness and encourage others to join. The event was framed as a peaceful protest, intended to show Harris that her policies and campaign had little support in this part of the state. Kelley also reminded her followers to keep "Team Trump" in their prayers for a successful and safe event.

    Kelley was totally obnoxious screaming into her bullhorn just feet away from event goer's ears.
    She was screaming about penises being cut off to children close by trying to protect their ears from the super loud bullhorn.
    We are civil in NH and Kelley was definitely not.
