Laura Loomer, an investigative journalist, and former congressional candidate, has claimed that Governor DeSantis ordered the police to bar a pro-Trump rally at Leesburg, Florida. In a video posted on Twitter, Loomer alleged that a group of Trump supporters and members of Villagers For Trump had gathered in front of "Books A Million" for Governor Ron DeSantis' book signing when the police were called to remove them.
Loomer stated in the video that she could be heard on the video telling the police that they had a right to free speech, but Governor DeSantis had ordered them to remove anyone wearing Trump gear. She went on to claim that the Governor was "anti-free speech," and that a security officer had even said on video that he was told to remove "anyone Pro-Trump."
Governor DeSantis or his staff have not yet responded to her allegations. It is also important to remember that while freedom of speech is a fundamental right, it is not an absolute right and is subject to limitations in certain circumstances, such as when it infringes on the rights of others or disrupts public order.
A group of Trump supporters and members of @Villagers4Trump showed up to my rally in front of Books A Million for @GovRonDeSantis book signing and we had the police called on us. As you can hear from the video, DeSantis told the police to kick out anyone in Trump gear! pic.twitter.com/12DmGzhbnE

Loomer further claimed that the police did not remove a group of protesters who were protesting Governor DeSantis' rejection of African American studies, even though they were on mall property during the book signing. She described this as hypocritical on the Governor's part.
To further prove how hypocritical DeSantis is, a group of protesters who were protesting his rejection of African American studies were also on Mall property today for the book signing, but the police didn’t have them to leave the mall property like they made Trump supporters! 👇🏻 https://t.co/Wc7mbVxA4G pic.twitter.com/rK6sKXgFQ2
