On Saturday, August 6, 2022, Donald J. Trump, the 45th President of the United States, wins a straw poll at CPAC 2022 in Dallas, Texas.

Yesterday, you were listening to former President Donald Trump's CPAC speech in Dallas, TX. According to the latest CPAC straw poll in 2022, around 69% of conservative attendees said that they would like to see former President Trump at, the top of the ticket in 2024. The approval rating for President Trump among the people in that CPAC room was 99%. The CPAC 2022 result suggests Trump retains his popularity among conservative activists.

The other main point to note here is that another CPAC straw poll found that if President Trump was not to run again, the runaway candidate was Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. You also saw a significant number of other votes for Donald Trump Jr. and several other members of the Republican party.

But it is very clear here that CPAC 2022 in Dallas was former President Trump's show. This was who everybody wanted to see. As everybody believed that you see those numbers, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis got 65% in that straw poll, in which former President Trump was not on the ballot.

You know, we heard him weave his way through a multitude of topics, particularly zeroing in on safety and the issue of crime and violence. Identifying the number one job for the next president is to get crime under control. Trump was also talking about drugs, the rise of Fentanyl, and taking back our streets from the homeless, drug-addicted, and dangerous leaders.

The Trump CPAC speech also talked about the potential 2024 bid. Many Republicans have expressed their desire for the former President to run again in 2024. Many people have a keen interest in Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and some other members of the Republican party would like to shake things up a little.

We heard him revive his idea of moving homeless people to tent cities on the outskirts of cities. He now touches on education, claiming that the department of education should be abolished, which was met with a huge cheer from the crowd, repeating claims of a crooked election, claiming that he had been persecuted, and also outlining what he perceived as his term highlights and talking about high inflation.

Meanwhile, with the economy, energy independence, and the last 2 years of adding quotes, we need to hold Democrats accountable. Notably absent, though, is any announcement or confirmation of a 2024 run for the presidency. Just a call to keep MAGA (Make America Great Again) going.

Trump wins the straw poll by a comfortable majority of 69% of the vote. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis received 24%. There was a loud rocking environment here in Dallas yesterday. There is a lot of speculation that former President Trump might be eyeing another run here in 2024.
