कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष राहुल गाँधी आज भुवनेश्वर के दौरे पर हैं उन्होंने आज ओडिशा में नवीन पटनायक की सरकार पर जमकर निशाना साधा और कहा की - ओडिशा एक विकेंद्रीकृत समाज है। ऐसी सोच कि एक व्यक्ति करोड़ों लोगों के सवालों का जवाब दे सकता है, इस पर मैं मूल रूप से विश्वास नहीं करता। यदि भारत को उन्नति करना है तो ओडिशा के लोगों की आवाज़ को भी इसमें शामिल होना होगा, मैं ये नहीं कह रहा हूं कि शिक्षा और स्वास्थ्य क्षेत्र में निजी क्षेत्र की कोई भूमिका नहीं है, लेकिन मानक सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र द्वारा तय होने चाहिए, 
IIT जैसे सार्वजनिक संस्थानों को 21वीं सदी के संस्थानों में बदलने की जरूरत है। यही काम स्वास्थ्य सेवा के क्षेत्र में भी करना होगा, रोजगार की सबसे बड़ी चुनौती ये है कि भारत ने उत्पादन बंद कर दिया है। उत्पादन पर आज पूरी तरह से चीन का कब्ज़ा है। भारत एकमात्र ऐसा देश है जो इस चुनौती का जवाब दे सकता है, कांग्रेस का शासन अलग तरह का है। हम लोकतांत्रिक देश चाहते हैं। हम सभी वर्गों को एक साथ जोड़ते हैं और आपसी बातचीत को बढ़ावा देते हैं.भारतीय श्रम बाजार को आकार देने और श्रम मजदूरी को बेहतर बनाने के लिये मनरेगा सफल प्रयास था। इसने लाखों लोगों के जीवन को बदल दिया। वही  अर्थशास्त्री जो पहले मनरेगा के आलोचक थे, आज इसकी सराहना कर रहे हैं, मोदी जी मनरेगा को नहीं समझ सकते, उन्होंने इसका मजाक उड़ाया और कहा कि "लोगों से गड्ढे खुदवाये"। ऐसा नहीं है, इससे श्रम बाजार में सुधार आया। इससे भारत में पहली बार न्यूनतम मजदूरी की व्यवस्था बनी, जब भारत के लोग यह मानना शुरू कर दें कि सत्ता में बैठा व्यक्ति उनकी बात नहीं सुनता और उनका सम्मान नहीं करता; और जब विपक्ष एकजुट हो जाये तो फिर भाजपा के लिए जीत व्यावहारिक रूप से असंभव है,

We intend to carry forward these ideas. We condemn what Mr. Modi is doing to MNREGA- it is a crime against poor people.I'm perfectly happy for someone to have a different opinion than me. I learn from people who are nasty to me. Hate is a weakness.
