Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Four to the Miami Dade College District Board of Trustees

September 11, 2025 | Tallahassee, Fla. — Governor Ron DeSantis has announced the appointment of Jose Felix Diaz and Juan Segovia, along with the reappointment of Michael Bileca and Ismare Monreal, to the Miami Dade College District Board of Trustees.

Jose Felix Diaz

Diaz currently serves as Executive Vice President and Managing Partner at Ballard Partners, a Partner at Panza Maurer Law, and Co-Founder of the Miami Tech Summit. He is also a former member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing Districts 115 and 116. Diaz holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and English from the University of Miami and a juris doctor from Columbia University.

Juan Segovia

Segovia works as a Homicide Detective in the Cold Case Unit and also serves as a Crisis and Hostage Negotiator for the Miami-Dade Police Department. He has been recognized with the 2014 Employee Excellence Award and the Distinguished Officer of the Month Award. Segovia earned both his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and master’s degree in international disaster management from Florida International University.

Michael Bileca

Bileca is the Chief Executive Officer of True North Classical Academy and Executive Director of the Dennis Bileca Character and Excellence Institute. He previously served in the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 115. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Tulane University and his MBA from Northwestern University.

Ismare Monreal

Monreal serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the City of Hialeah. She has also held leadership roles as Acting Vice President and Dean of Students at Johnson & Wales University and as a Chief Legislative Assistant in the Florida House of Representatives. Monreal earned her associate degree from Miami Dade College, bachelor’s degree from Florida International University, and MBA from the University of Phoenix.
