President Biden will deliver a speech at Laborfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

US President Joe Biden will address thousands of Labor union members at the Summerfest grounds on Labor Day. The president's addresses to the labor fest crowd won't be tied to any political campaign or candidate, but organizers acknowledge the political significance of his visit coming just two months before election day.

There is some history here. Former US President Obama addressed the labor fest crowd two months before the 2014 midterm elections, but this year, President Biden's low approval rating of 40% in the latest Marquette poll has raised questions about his role in campaigning in the Wisconsin governor's and senate races.

Senate candidate Mandela Barnes didn’t answer our questions Tuesday about president Biden’s Milwaukee visit. His campaign confirmed that he would participate in labor fest events in Milwaukee and other cities but didn’t say whether he would appear with Joe Biden.

The campaign of Barnes' opponent, Senator Ron Johnson, publicly questioned whether Barnes and Biden would appear together. Meanwhile, despite reports that he had lobbied against an earlier Biden visit, Democratic Governor Tony Evers has stated that he will join the president at today's labor festival in Milwaukee.

It will be Biden’s second visit to Milwaukee, Wisconsin since being elected as US President. President Biden held a Milwaukee town hall at the Pabst Theater in February 2021 after never visiting the city during the largely virtual 2020 Democratic National Convention.

Laborfest 2022 is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept 5, 2022, at the Henry Maier Festival Grounds in Milwaukee, WI. It is free for anyone who wants to attend this event. President Biden will also travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Labor Day 2022. The White House is expected to release more information soon about the upcoming visit of POTUS Joe Biden.
