US President Joe Biden is set to deliver a prime-time speech Thursday in Philadelphia

President Joe Biden in Philadelphia today to deliver a prime-time speech at Independence Mall on what he calls a battle for the soul of the nation. Yesterday President Biden was in Wilkes Barre where he delivered remarks on his Safer America Plan that aims to reduce gun crime and save lives. Biden is also campaigning for Democrats Josh Shapiro and John Fetterman in Pennsylvania.

What do we know about this Prime Time Biden speech?

Crews have been out here all afternoon. The president will speak from Independence Hall. The part that faces Chestnut Street. The president's speech is set for 8 o'clock tonight.

Now it is important to note that the public will only be able to watch it on television where he is expected to say that the country is at a critical moment right now and a political expert told us that he agrees.

As per the Police department, we can expect significant road closures around Independence Mall tonight. They'll be shutting down about four blocks in total, from fourth to sixth street and market to Chestnut street.

Those road closures could start as early as 4:00 this evening. The president himself isn't expected to deliver his speech until about 8:00 PM tonight. When he does, it is expected to last for about 20 to 30 minutes.
